Professional Indoor Football to Return to Billing for the 2022 season

Regional Group with Pride in Billing wants to make this the Communities team.

Atop the beautiful DoubleTree hotel downtown, officials from a Wyoming-based group, Pick-Six Entertainment, LLC announced today their plans to launch a new professional indoor football team in Billings for the 2022 season. The yet-to-be-named team will be involving local business leaders and will play at the MetraPark First Interstate Arena beginning in March of next year. The group announced not only their arrival, but also plans to hire local staff, involve local business leaders, and even have the community name the team through a contest in partnership with EconoPrint and the Billings Gazette.

“We spent time considering several cities but knew almost as soon as we arrived that Billings was where we wanted to be,” explained team managing partner Keith Russ. He and partner Tel Koan started Pick-Six over a year ago launching the Wyoming Mustangs, a professional football team playing in Gillette, Wyoming this season in front of sell-out crowds each game. “We have been treated with such great hospitality from Ray and Bill at the Metra to business leaders such as Ernie Lee and Rim Rock GMC, the staff at the Billings Chamber, and beyond. We will do our best to make certain that we provide something very special to this community.”

Proud members of the CIF (Champions Indoor Football), the Billings team will compete with opponents from all over the upper-midwest down through Texas in a 12 game season (6 home games) starting in March of 2022. Games are fast-paced, high-scoring, and surrounded by family-oriented entertainment from a tailgate party throughout the game and even into the post-game autograph session and activities. The team provided a tentative timeline on when the fans and the community can expect to meet a new GM, head coach, see a team name and logo, and be able to buy tickets over the coming months.

Additionally, the team announced a unique “Name-The-Team Contest” in partnership with both the Billings Gazette and EconoPrint in downtown Billings. “The owners were clear that this is the communities team and they want input from the people of Billings on what it should be called, what the logo should represent, and how it should be positioned within our city. It is very exciting to be able to do the printing for, and be associated with this new element that will be so good for our town,” stated Jim Berry, owner of EconoPrint. Winners participating in this contest will be entered to win prizes such as season tickets, a chance to lead the team onto the field at a home game, and the grand prize winner will even have their favorite number retired in honor of their contribution to naming the team!
